A raw and minimalist aesthetic of the American southwest - Georgia O'Keeffe's adobe in Abiquiu, New Mexico is the essence of elemental beauty.

Sun-dried mud and earthy materials are used for the typical Pueblo Revival style, modest home. Thick walls, rounded exteriors, flat roofs, and enclosed courtyards reflect and complement with the natural environment. O’Keeffe restored the original structure when she purchased it in 1945, however minimally altered the small windows by opening it up to the flow of natural light and majestic views of the Chama Valley.

Visual simplicity is carried throughout the home, where each curated room displays minimal and carefully chosen items. Animal bones, rocks, shells and other found objects she scavenged from the landscapes are displayed as a admiration towards simple, raw formations and the contours of nature. O’Keeffe’s attention to detail brought an earthy warmth and harmony all around the adobe.
